• Like Ridgeview, Highland went undefeated in duals and won the SEYL team title. They also have a strong core group of athletes and are hoping a fifth developes. Van Zandt, Turner and Lewis have been winning since they were sophomores and they too want a valley title. The past two years they have been runner-up at valley.

Coach Mayberry has been at Highland for 15 years and is rumored to be stepping down in the near future. In 2007, long time Centennial coach Randy Jones beat Mayberry for a valley title in his final season of coaching and I know Mayberry's squad would love to send him of in the same manner. Besides the already mentioned athletes, another big upside for Highland is they always have large squads and Mayberry knows how to get them ready for the championship season.
